Mental Health Awareness Week 2025

Mental Health Awareness Week 2025

Grove Article (2)

This year, Mental Health Awareness Week takes place from 12th – 18th May 2025, and the focus is on something that touches all our lives — community. Led by the Mental Health Foundation since 2001, this national week aims to highlight how vital strong social connections are for our mental wellbeing.

Feeling part of a positive, supportive community can improve our mood, boost confidence, and help us feel less alone. It provides a sense of belonging and purpose, and during tough times, it can offer the emotional support we all need. But even though we’re surrounded by communities, we don’t always realise how much they can benefit our mental health.

This week is a great opportunity to reconnect—whether that’s through volunteering, joining a local group, supporting neighbours, or simply reaching out to someone for a chat. Small acts of connection can have a big impact.

A highlight of the week is Wear it Green Day, taking place on Thursday 15 May. Everyone is encouraged to wear green and help raise awareness and funds to support mental health programmes across the UK. It’s a fun and meaningful way to get involved—whether you’re baking cakes, hosting a quiz, or planning a dress-up day at school or work.

If you or someone you know is struggling, there’s help available. Services like Samaritans (116 123), Shout (text SHOUT to 85258), CALM (0800 58 58 58), and the Mind Infoline (0300 123 3393) are there to offer free, confidential support 24/7.

By coming together and supporting one another, we can help build communities where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported—this week and beyond.

We have also taken time to put together some free colouring sheets as coloring is a fun and easy way to support your mental health. It helps you relax, stay in the moment, and take a break from stress. The simple act of coloring can calm your mind and lift your mood, making it a great tool for self-care and unwinding after a busy day.
